Garmin's nüvi 255 has improved upon it's series 200 predecessors by adding features such as these, as well as other significant improvements, like predictive technology providing faster satellite lock, more information on the re-designed screen and an exciting new feature, photo navigation.
Complete maps for North America are included as is text-to-speech providing spoken turn by turn directions with the real names of streets. It's a lot easier to "turn left in 50 feet at Green Street" instead of "turn left in 50 feet".
The slim design that Garmin introduced, last year, with the 200 series is still evident in all the nuvi 255. They will fit comfortably in your pocket or purse. The nuvi 255 is compatible with the optional MSN Direct receiver (GDB 55). This optional MSN Direct receiver provides premium content such as traffic updates, weather, gas prices, enhanced movie listings, stock info, news, local events and a send-to-GPS feature for trip planning.
