vehicle GPS for xmas: Nextar vs. Mio?
so i know garmin is the mostly the leader in gps gadgets, but i can’t really afford that. I wanted to get a car gps for my husband for Christmas because he drives a loooong way to work in the city each day, and he’s always calling trying to find detours and getting lost. (he’s terrible with directions anyway).
i was looking at two of these, and i was wondering if anyone has used either one and how they worked. i know kohls isn’t the best place to buy electronics, but i have alot of money to there in gift cards and coupons etc, so it would make this affordably possible.

In all honesty, you should consider a TomTom. Good ones are around $99 and the ones at Kohl’s aren’t exactly top notch in reliability. All those GPX digital cameras and camcorders always end up being returned and I expect to see the Nextar GPS come back as well. They didn’t fly off the shelves on Black Friday.
But if you are buying it, keep the receipt, Kohl’s has a very lax return policy. At least with stores like Staples or Best Buy, you can get insurance coverage.
