We called the police and they found us because of the car GPS systems providing them our exact position…” Jason was so excited and he told all he could remember to us.

It is fortunate that their cars have GPS car navigation. So the police can find them as soon as possible. Otherwise, they might be dead in that cold and hidden place. Their experience told people that they should pay much attention to the check of the car when there is a long distance’ journey and make sure that everything runs well.

How does car GPS work, like TOM TOM and other name brand?

I’ll be driving out of state this weekend and I am thinking of getting a GPS, could someone please explain to me how does it work? Please go into detail.

I’ve never thought of getting it until now so I didnt care to read on it or anything.

GPS receivers, like TOM TOM, receive signals from satellites and use those to triangulate it’s location. It uses that location to find it’s location on a map and displays that to you so you know where you are. The manufacturers and/or some independent agency has compiled streets and addresses and that information is also store in the GPS receiver so it can plot a course to a destination you wish to go to.
